TRIP DIARY: #1 LONDON

First time in my life I stepped on European soil. London has always been one of my beloved cities. Not only because It relates to my favorite bands (The Beatles and Coldplay), but also for it's culture, it's colours, and it's "rockabilly" spirit, to quote a friend. Moreover, the mere fact of seeing a little crown adorning the city every two steps, either in a column, a phone booth or a statue, made me feel that I was in my own Pinterest page.

Leaving aside the freezing temperatures that I suffered during my stay, the most beautiful experience was WALKING through the streets of London, knowing it's small pubs and people, and breathing it's air. And then, obviously, visiting the main attractions that any ordinary tourist would take: London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Abbey Road, Camden Town, Royal Albert Hall and of course, the famous Big Ben.

By day we would tour the city, and by night we would either dine in magnificent places, or go to some of the live shows that were currently on, London nights got plenty options. One of the shows was an intimate acoustic concert by James McCartney, son of my biggest idol. Since he was sharing the stage with Ron Wood (Rolling Stone's main guitarist), of whom my boyfriend and brother are avid fans, we gave it a go. There was a slight possibility that the former Beatle was going to be present, but i didn't want to build up my expectations.

Gracias Londres!
But it happened, and there he was. Paul McCartney went to see his son in concert, as any good parent would do. And I became one of the luckiest women on the planet. I was in London for seven days, and I got to know one of the members of the band that changed music history forever. And not only i saw him playing the piano and singing from a third row in a tiny little theater, but he also stepped by right next to me with his wife Nancy Shavell, before settling into their seats. And for a few minutes, the only thing separating me from him was the arm of a bouncer! Thank you London!
